Sharn McNeill was recently diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) after almost a year of tests. The diagnosis bought her life to a screeching halt, and became the beginning of what has already been an incredible and inspiring journey.
Within the last year, Sharn has gone from diagnosis to being awarded the Beacon of Courage Award by the Brain Mapping Foundation at the 11th Annual World Congress of Society for Brain Mapping Therapeutics. Each year the award is given to a courageous individual for their dedication to the promotion and awareness of neurological disorders. (Past recipients of the award include Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords, ABC News Anchor Bob Woodruff & Actor Dustin Hoffman.)
We are so blessed to have her share her story – a story of finding gratitude in the most difficult of circumstances, and how a bucket list can be shortened to a post-it note.
